Pottery Class Price List

Class TypeDurationPrice
Individual Lesson1 hour£25 + materials and firing
Group Session2 hours£25 + materials and firing
Materials and firingSmall and Medium pieces made as part of the learning process are included in the class fee so for most people there are no extra charges.

If you make pieces that are very tall or wide then we may need to come to a special arrangement that reflects the difficulty of packing them efficiently in the kiln. Please also remember that we are not equipped to deal with students going into production. If we feel that a student’s demands on the materials and firing are disproportionate, we reserve the right to charge for work at £4 / kg finished weight.

Materials and firing

Clay can be recycled as many times as you like until it has been fired. And the only way to get better is to make, make, make. So to help you improve, you are free to make as many pots as you like and we will recycle anything you decide not to keep, all included in the class fees. Once you are happy with something you’ve made we can bisque fire it for you. After that you can glaze it and we will fire it again.

After the clay has been fired it becomes a ceramic that will last forever so we encourage you to be experimental in what you make but also a little bit choosy about what you fire. If you want to make something big, it is always worth making a small one first (a maquette) to refine your design and test your decoration before you scale-up.
