Profile
I have an engineering background which informs all of my practice. I am naturally drawn to the wheel and to the technical aspects of firing and glaze development. Engineering is all about control of materials and process but I love the more mercurial firing methods of smoke- and wood-firing. I worked as an adult education pottery tutor for 10 years at Hills Road Sixth-form college but I now teach from home with my wife Karen.
Wood working
In addition to my pottery interests I am a keen and developing woodworker. Over the past 15 years Karen and I have been growing a woodland to supply a mix of timber for woodworking and firewood for firings. You can see some of my recent projects here.
